What does "holistic dentistry" actually mean?
Holistic dentistry treats your mouth as part of your whole body, not in isolation. In practice, that means we use only biocompatible materials (no mercury, no BPA, no fluoride in our hygiene), follow the IAOMT SMART protocol for amalgam removal, and consider how every treatment affects your overall health — from your immune system to your sleep.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We accept most PPO insurance plans and submit claims on your behalf. For uninsured patients we offer the RitePlan in-house membership starting at $35/month, which includes cleanings, exams, X-rays, and a 20% discount on all other treatment.
Do you treat children?
Absolutely. We see patients from age 1 through senior years. Our pediatric holistic approach uses gentle techniques, kid-friendly fluoride-free materials, and patient education at every age — perfect for parents who want the same standards for their kids that they want for themselves.
What's the SMART amalgam removal protocol?
SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) is the IAOMT-developed safety protocol for removing old silver fillings without exposing you to mercury vapor. It includes a rubber dam, high-volume suction, alternative air source for you and the dentist, an isolation drape, and immediate composite or ceramic replacement.
Do you handle dental emergencies?
Yes. We hold same-day emergency slots every weekday for broken fillings, knocked-out teeth, severe pain, and abscesses. Call (818) 766-7776 as early as possible — and don’t try to wait it out. Most dental emergencies get worse, not better, with time.
Why Zirconia implants instead of titanium?
Zirconia is the most biocompatible implant material available. Unlike titanium, it’s metal-free, hypoallergenic, doesn’t conduct electricity in the body, and integrates beautifully with bone. For patients with metal sensitivities, autoimmune conditions, or simply a preference to avoid metal in the body, Zirconia is the clear choice.
Are you fluoride-free?
Yes — completely. Our cleanings use hydroxyapatite, our home-care recommendations are fluoride-free, and we don’t apply fluoride varnishes or rinses. Hydroxyapatite is the natural mineral your enamel is made of and has been shown in clinical research to remineralize teeth as effectively as fluoride.
