HOW IT WORKS

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign works by applying carefully calibrated forces to your teeth through a series of custom 3-D printed aligner trays. Each tray moves your teeth a fraction of a millimeter — you wear each set for 1–2 weeks, then switch to the next in the series.

We start with a 3-D scan (no messy impressions) that maps your current tooth positions and simulates your final result. That data is sent to Invisalign, who fabricates your full series of aligners and ships them to our office.

You visit us every 6–8 weeks for a brief progress check. Because aligners are removable, you eat and drink whatever you like, brush and floss normally, and wear your retainer overnight at the end of treatment to hold your results.

What Can Invisalign Treat?

Invisalign can address crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. Mild to moderate cases are straightforward; more complex bite corrections may require additional attachments (small tooth-colored bumps bonded to specific teeth to give the aligner better grip).

Cases we see often in our practice: teeth that have drifted after previous orthodontic treatment (adults who lost their retainer), mild crowding that affects cleaning and gum health, spacing concerns after an extraction, and smile aesthetics improvements before veneers or a makeover.
